The rubber protection pad protects mounted equipment from the metal mount. Simply loosen the locking knob, and rotate (This head can be rotated 360 degrees) or tilt and pan your camera/equipment to position with fluidity using the ball joint, 90 degree angles can be achieved by lowering the platform to the notch. The unit weighs 417g, making it a solid piece of kit for both hobbyists and professionals. The mount plate has a standard 1/4" camera tripod thread.
